Samsung I7500 & D980

Different brands of mobile phones are flooded in the market, but still Samsung has maintained its position very successfully. The handsets provided by this brand are outstanding in terms of functionality and features. Awesome designs and looks have supported its mobile phones to reach to a standard level. The Samsung i7500 has the dimensions of 115.9 * 56 * 11.9 mm, and this 3G network
phone weighs only 116.7 grams. On the other hand, the Samsung D980 weighs 117 grams and has the dimensions of 97.5 * 55 * 16.3 mm, which is slightly heavier than the above mentioned device. The battery backup of the i7500 offers standby time upto 450 hours in 2G & 340 hours in 3G, and talktime upto 9 hours 20 minutes in 2G & 6 hours 10 minutes in 3G. In the contrast, the D980 battery supports standby time upto 200 hours and talktime upto 3 hours, which is less than the other model.

On comparing the memory capability of these two handsets, one would find that the Samsung i7500's internal memory is composed of 8 GB with 128 MB RAM that could be extended upto 16 GB with MicroStick card. Whereas, the Samsung D980's internal memory consists of 45 MB, which could be increased upto 2 GB only. In this war between both, we would find something common, and that is the inbuilt camera. Both have 5 mega pixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, which is capable of capturing images of 2592 * 1944 pixels resolution. But i7500 has an additional feature of Geo-tagging, which makes it more advanced than the other.

Both the handsets have fast connectivity and fast paced Internet browsing facilities. But i7500 has certainly more options for data transfer and connectivity. Other applications like messaging, call record, organizer etc. are available in both the handsets. For music lovers, both offer MP3 player and MP4 player, but D980 has something additional, and that is FM radio. These handsets are enabled with touchscreens, and they have different features. I7500 has 3.2 inches AMOLED capacitive screen with accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, which supports 16 million colors display. On the other hand, D980 has 2.6 inches TFT resistive screen, which supports 256 thousand colors display. So, there is no doubt that the first one is better in terms of display.

Samsung i7500 and Samsung D980, both are competent handsets in their own way. It becomes difficult to assess, which handset is better or superior to the other. All necessary features and applications are provided with these handsets, depending on the user's requirements.
